Sisters, Brothers and Friends, Please find below tentative dates for our regional conferences. Let me tell you that it was an almost impossible task to select dates that weren’t going to create a conflict with other events within PSAC and its Components and DCLs. In addition to that, I also had to consult Erin Sirett, Regional Coordinator, to discuss the staffing aspect of these conferences.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE December 19, 2018 Members of the Public Service Alliance of Canada at Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador Receive Overwhelming Strike Mandate NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR–The Lecturers’ Union of Memorial University of Newfoundland (LUMUN), who are members of the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC), held strike votes earlier this month and received an overwhelming strike mandate from their members.

Sisters, Brothers and Friends, Please take the time to add your signature to petition E-1833 which calls upon the Government of Canada to: (a) enact legislation banning conversion therapy to minors in Canada; (b) enact legislation prohibiting transporting minors outside of the country for such purposes; and (c) have conversion therapy included in the Canadian Human Rights Act and the Criminal Code, to protect children from abuse.

NOVA SCOTIA Halifax?event on December 6 begins at 5:15 pm at the Halifax Public Library on Spring Garden for the outside vigil - Join us at this gender inclusive and alcohol free event that will begin outside the front entrance of the Halifax Central Library, for the candlelight vigil. Following, we will go inside of the Halifax Central Library’s Paul O’Regan Hall for refreshments, music, action, and a screening of the film, Polytechnique.

Colleen Spurvey, chair of the St. John’s Regional Women’s Committee (RWC) presenting a cheque of $485 to Planned Parenthood. These funds were raised at the International Women’s Day Luncheon organized by the RWC.
